Nutritious Diet Plans for Pregnant Women - Experts Approved

Pregnancy is a very crucial time period in the lives of parents to be. Not just for the mother, but for the father and in fact, the entire family. In India, pregnancy is not just for the parents to be but for the entire family. A very major concern for everyone is the health of the pregnant woman and her diet. Today our topic of concern is going to be related to this similar issue and will be about tips for a nutritional diet for pregnant females. Let's get started.

  • Diet should be well-balanced: The diet of a woman in pregnancy must be a balanced one. A well maintained balance between fruits and vegetables, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, etc is a must.
  • Fresh fruits are a must: A balanced diet has to include fresh fruits. Five to six servings of fruits have to be there which consists of at least citrus fruits like oranges, etc. Drinking naturally made fresh juice can also be an alternative if the women are bored of eating the fruits.
  • Green leafy vegetables are vital: A healthy diet would be incomplete without dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, kale, etc. All these are enriched with vitamins and calcium.
  • Avoid food which can lead to thyroid problems in pregnancy: Some pregnant women have risks of thyroid and are suggested to avoid some of these foods such as nuts like almonds, cashew, pine nuts, etc. Soy-enriched food like tofu, etc. Consume them in limited quantities only after your doctor's consultation.

Eating well and exercising is very essential not just for the mother but also for the baby. Weight gained by the mother helps the child to gain weight as it is the food being consumed by the mothers which enriches the child with all the nutrition needed.
